        Hibiscus Syriacus Carnation Bay is named Ardens Rose of Sharon (Hibiscus Syriacus ‘Ardens’) and can be called Althea Shrub too. It has stunning double-petal blossoms in lilac between light pink and purple colors and is mainly five-petaled with small wavy inner double petals. The flowers are trumpet-shaped and 2–4 inches wide, with a light floral smell that blooms in the summer and autumn. The plants are a bushy deciduous shrub growing around 6 feet. The leaves of the Ardens Rose of Sharon (Hibiscus syriacus ‘Ardens’) are lobed and green throughout the vegetation period. The leaves are medium to dark green and emerge in late spring. They have broadly ovate, palmately veined leaves that are initially pale yellow-green, becoming medium green. The leaves do not develop any appreciable fall color.
