Dendrobium lindleyi, also known as Lindley’s Dendrobium or Dendrobium aggregatum, is a plant of the genus Dendrobium and is a fascinating miniature to small-sized epiphytic orchid. They are found in the mountains of southern China and Southeast Asia.
Blooming in winter and spring, Dendrobium lindleyi produces wonderful showers of golden flowers. The color deepens as the flowers age. Each blossom is about 1 inch (2.5 cm) across and features a flat face with rounded petals. The petals are bright golden, and the lip (the central part of the flower) is slightly darker orange. The overall effect is striking and beautiful. The flowers exude a slight honey-like fragrance, which is most pronounced in the early morning and early evening.
Dendrobium lindleyi has short, thick, spindle-shaped pseudobulbs (stems) that are approximately 2 inches (5 cm) long. The plant bears a single, leathery leaf that is thick and elliptical, measuring 1-3 inches (2–7 cm) in length. These leaves are evergreens. It can even thrive on a sunny window sill.
In summary, Dendrobium lindleyi is a delightful orchid with golden blooms that add a touch of elegance to any indoor space.
