Sakura flower, also called cherry flower, is the flower of trees in the group Cerasus. It is a subgenus of Prunus. The word “sakura” usually refers to the flowers of ornamental cherry trees, like cultivars of Prunus serrulata. Sakura petals are oval-shaped, with a small notch at the top. The petals have a cleft at the tip, which gives them an elegant look. Sakura flowers come in many colors, including white, light pink, dark pink, yellow, and green. The most popular varieties of cherry blossom trees have pink blooms. Most Japanese sakura blossoms are a shade of pale pink; they can be white, dark pink, or even yellow.

Sakura petal cutters are used to sculpt Sakura blossoms with air-dried polymer clay or sugar icing paste. Sakura petal cutters can be single petal or pentamerous in one piece. They must be used together with Sakura petal molds. The art of sakura flowers is beautiful and attractive to the viewer. In addition, the cherry blossom petal cutter can be used to make other flowers as well.
